Lubricant for tablets |
Tablets are probably the most widely galenic form used among medicines already on the market.
The pharmaceutical industry particularly appreciates them because they are easy to use in hospital as well as in patient house, are used in the most natural and easy way of administration, contain a reproducible and determined amount of API, with a long shelf life thanks to their anhydrous form.
Tabletting technology is still searching new concepts in order to modify the API biodisponibility like shown with dispersible, soluble and oro-dispersible tablets.
Then Stearinerie Dubois proposes a range of excipients for tabletting not only to improve the manufacture of pharmaceutical and nutraceutic tablets but also to play a role in biodisponibility of API in the body.
Stearinerie Dubois supplies magnesium stearate which is a well-known and efficient lubricant but which often gives a bitter taste to the tablet. Then we propose two different grades of stearic acid complying with Eur. Ph. requirements. Stearic acid avoids bitterness and is a excellent lubricant.
The available grades are:
- DUB 50 PO : stearic acid 50/50, powder
- Microlub 50 : stearic acid 50/50 fine micronized powder
- DUB 70 PO : stearic acid 70/30 powder
- Microlub 70 : stearic acid 70/30 fine micronized powder
But we also propose:
DUB DBHG (glyceryl dibehenate) which is a fine micronized powder with very good lubricant properties. DUB DBHG can also be used as lipidic matrix for sustained release. It complies to the Eur. Ph. requirements.
Sucrose esters are exclusive products manufactured by Stearinerie Dubois. They are notably proposed as hydrophilic lubricants. They are recommended for hydrophilic API use or lipophilic compounds which need to be incorporated in hydrophilic medium.
Many other properties are discussed on this website (see the specific page).
Stearinerie Dubois is still developing others excipients to complete this present range…
Let come and visit us at the end of the year on CPHi exhibition !
